Volunteer and Pre-Professional Internship Program
The volunteer program at Bosque La Esperanza allows motivated individuals to participate in restoration activities, biotic monitoring, ecotourism, and community work. The forest provides a broad learning opportunity and allows participants to act as true agents of change by supporting a local conservation initiative.
The proposed activities are primarily conducted at the scientific station and within the forest; where all participants receive an induction and the necessary tools related to each activity.
Activities are led by our coordinators, who are ready to share their knowledge and positive energy to make this experience a memorable and educational event.
La Esperanza Biological Station
The station is a wooden structure with a meeting area on the ground floor and six rooms on the upper floor. These rooms are equipped with bunk beds, mattresses, and mosquito nets. There is a kitchen area with available utensils and an outdoor dining area. The station has two dry toilets, two showers, and a laundry area. It is equipped with electricity, water, and internet. A first-aid kit and a stretcher are also available.
Logistics
Participants can reach the site via public transport to the El Carmen city terminal and enter the community by ranchera or chiva (traditional open bus).

The volunteer program for Reconectar project allows participation from individuals motivated by urban research and restoration actions. Activities include planting and maintaining green infrastructure, as well as participating in various urban research and environmental education activities.
Since the project has interventions in various parts of the city throughout the year, volunteer activities also vary.
If you want to be a volunteer in our urban restoration project, please email us for more information on current opportunities within the project.
Our two projects also offer the opportunity to participate through pre-professional internships for students in fields related to our work.
