OUR MISSION
Great Leaf is a non-profit organization that develops conservation and ecological restoration programs in different ecosystems in Ecuador, both urban and rural areas. These actions focus on protecting and recovering Ecuador's natural heritage, in addition to improving the living conditions of the communities.
This work is developed through the integration of scientific research, community participation, environmental education and sustainable use of resources programs and ecological restoration projects implementation.

Quienes hoy son los fundadores de Great Leaf han sido testigos directos de los daños ambientales que produce la sobreexplotación de recursos naturales y es por ello unieron esfuerzos para generar cambios concretos, donde las ideas se traduzcan en acciones en pro de la conservación para el desarrollo sostenible. Es así como Great Leaf busca ser un agente de cambio en Ecuador, siendo una institución que genera proyectos que aporten a la sociedad y a la conservación de la naturaleza.
Great Leaf fue fundada por personas comprometidas con la conservación de los ecosistemas de Ecuador, cuyo interés nace de sus profesiones y su pasión por la naturaleza. Es así, que la Fundación está encabezada por un equipo interdisciplinario con experiencia en distintos ámbitos que convergen en un mismo interés, la preservación de la naturaleza.
Nuestra Historia
Inicio
Actualmente
Inicia en el año 2020 como un proyecto de conservación, restauración ecológica y desarrollo sostenible en el Carmen, Manabí, en el área del Chocó ecuatoriano, cuando se juntaron esfuerzos con Anelio Loor, quien ha conservado este remanente de bosque por más de 20 años.
El proyecto arranca con el estudio de biodiversidad en el que en el que se hallaron especies de animales amenazadas como el mono aullador (Alouatta palliata) y nuevas especies de árboles (Aniba ecuadorica y Guatteria esperanzae).
Actualmente, se ha desarrollado una alianza con Green Sanctuaries para crear un biocorredor conformado por los bosques La Esperanza y Tenka.
Es un proyecto que trabaja para incrementar la biodiversidad y conectividad en el área urbana mediante la implementación de infraestructura verde funcional.
Comienza en septiembre del 2022 con el Corredor Biológico, contituido a lo largo de la Av. Mariana de Jesús, conectando los parques Rumipamba y La Carolina. El proyecto sigue activo en este espacio y continuamos trabajando en más sectores y diferentes espacios verdes urbanos, como quebradas, parques e instalaciones corporativas.
